Green Construction
At Turaco, we are proud to have a team of well-trained and experienced specialists who contribute to each project with passion and expertise. In the Romanian market, the company brings over 10 years of experience in various fields, and together with our European partners, we offer the highest quality underground infrastructure solutions. Since the beginning of our activity, the company has provided consulting and execution services related to the modern trenchless method, which is the teleoptic level of controlled drilling, often referred to as microtunneling. The use of this technology allows and ensures drilling in very challenging geological conditions. It enables you to cross various types of obstacles, including roads, runways, rivers, and buildings.
Our Commitment to Quality and Safety
Quality and safety are fundamental principles of our operations. We are committed to upholding the highest quality standards in every project and ensuring the safety of both our team and the surrounding environment
Partners for Your Success
We are your trusted partners for any microtunneling and pipe-jacking project. Regardless of the size or complexity of your project, we are here to provide customized solutions and ensure your success. We are open to collaboration and eager to support you with the best solutions to successfully complete your project under the best conditions. Considering that this sector is continuously expanding in Romania, we come with the desire to develop and bring the experience of projects from other countries, with the goal of providing quality services and products.
Trenchless Technology
Trenchless technology is extremely essential for the expansion and modernization of underground infrastructure in both urban and rural areas, thereby reducing the costs and inconveniences associated with traditional excavations. This technology allows for the execution of advanced work even in cases where conventional methods are less cost-effective or impossible to apply.
The precision and execution guarantee are applicable to all soil conditions. Our specialists are always well-prepared and up-to-date with the latest developments. Being a rapidly growing sector, we strive to be constantly prepared and willing to evolve, and we can say that we have a wide range of services and equipment to meet everyone’s needs.
Trenchless excavations include construction methods such as tunneling, microtunneling, horizontal directional drilling, pipe jacking, auger boring, and other methods for installing pipes and cables underground with minimal excavation.
Microtunneling is an advanced drilling construction technique that requires specialized equipment or a drilling shield with all its components. To carry out the microtunneling process optimally, launch and reception shafts are needed at the beginning and end of the section being executed. The microtunneling machine is pushed into the ground with the help of a frame operated by two or more hydraulic cylinders positioned in the launch shaft.
The drilling machine has a cutting head that rotates during its advancement to excavate the soil, and a crushing cone mounted behind the cutting head to crush larger elements that need to be crushed and removed through the pipes to the separation station. There are also drilling machines with an excavation bucket at the front of the shield that excavate the soil during the machine’s advancement on the section and remove the excavated soil using a conveyor belt.

Work Steps
- Control and Command Cabin
- Crane for Shield and Pipe Launch
- Sewer Pipes
- Separation and Recycling Station
- Bentonite Mixing Plant
- Bentonite Mud Pump
- Shield (Cutting Head)
- Intermediate Thrust Station
- Main Thrust Station
- Support Wall
About this Process
For the precise execution of the tunnel, a device is used, consisting of a laser device positioned in the launch chamber and an electronic device mounted on the cutting head. The signal is then transmitted to the control container of the entire equipment. The microtunneling process is completed when the machine reaches the reception chamber.
Advantages
The main advantages of microtunneling technology are:
- Minimal Surface Disruption
- Enhanced Safety
- Precision
- Reduced Installation Time
- Minimal Interference with Infrastructure and Environment
- Applicable to All Soil Types and Environmentally Friendly.
